Canine Physiotherapy
At Canine Kinetics, all complementary therapies are carried out by a qualified physiotherapist, who performs an in depth systematic assessment of the muscles, bones, cardiovascular system, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of your dogs body. Depending on the outcomes of the physical assessment and patient consultation, a combination of 'hands on treatment' using techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, stretching and corrective exercises are used to treat the area of concern. There are many benefits to canine physiotherapy, these benefits include: -Improving the recovery of soft tissue injuries -Correcting postural issues -Increasing/aiding in mobility -Alleviating muscle tension -Increasing blood circulation -Stimulating the lymphatic system Canine Kinetics can also prescribe rehabilitation/ corrective exercises with the aim to restore your dogs function back to normal. Exercise can also help to compliment the speed at which your dog will recover! These individualised exercises can help increase muscle mass, restore flexibility, and improve proprioception and range of motion. Every dog, at Canine Kinetic’s, receives an individual program to do at home with their owners. We believe that education and advice is an integral part of an overall management plan and every pet owner is emailed a quick summary of the key points after the session, so that no information is missed or forgotten! We also include a detailed summary of findings and treatment plans moving forward to your dogs treating veterinarian so that we are all on the same page! |
